A large, well-connected ski area
The Alpe d'Huez ski area brings together several resorts and villages, linked on skis or by lift. That means plenty of variety: wide open runs, quieter sectors, high-altitude terrain and descents down to the villages.
The Alpe d'Huez sector
This is the natural starting point for guests staying at Chalet Jepima. It has plenty of learning areas, lots of lifts and easy access to the high-altitude sectors.
The Pic Blanc and the high-altitude runs
The Pic Blanc rises to 3,330 metres. On a clear day the panorama is breathtaking. The runs from this sector are best suited to confident, experienced skiers. Weather, wind and visibility can change conditions very quickly.
Links to the other resorts
The lift links take you to Auris-en-Oisans, Villard-Reculas, Oz-en-Oisans or Vaujany. On your first trip, allow plenty of time to get back and keep the piste map handy. Journey times depend on your group's level and how busy the lifts are.
Planning a realistic route
- Pick one main objective for the day.
- Avoid crossing the whole ski area with young children.
- Identify two possible routes home.
- Check for lift and run closures before you set off.
- Plan a lunch stop that fits your route.
