The big challenge: cutting down on logistics
With children, being close to the slopes makes a real difference. It's easy to pop back if someone is cold, tired or has forgotten a piece of kit. Chalet Jepima is around 100 metres from the slopes and has ski lockers.
Planning a child-friendly day
For young children, full days on the slopes can be too long. A morning session, a quiet lunch and something light in the afternoon often make for better memories than a packed schedule.
Getting the clothing right
- Layer up rather than relying on one very thick garment.
- Pack a spare pair of gloves.
- Use proper ski socks – one pair, not several.
- Protect necks and faces when the wind picks up.
- Label each child's belongings clearly.
Family meals
The fully equipped kitchen lets you alternate between restaurants and simple meals at the apartment. A raclette, a pierrade or a quick dinner – no need to head back out after a day on the slopes.
What if a child doesn't want to ski?
It's best not to turn skiing into a chore. The resort offers plenty of other winter activities. A rest, a walk or something fun can be all it takes to get back on the slopes happily the next day.
